Ven. Prof. Benjamin Chibueze Diarachukwu

Benjamin was the third son of Late Oke Diugwu and Catherine Mboka Diara of Isiama Village in Ezikolo-Abbi, Uzo Uwani Local Government Area, Enugu State, Nigeria. Born on February 1, 1964 in Enugu-Abbi and completed his primary and secondary education in Community Primary School, Abbi and Premier Secondary School, Ukehe respectively and his tertiary education in Trinity Theological College, Umuahia (then in Affiliation with University of Calabar) and University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Benjamin bagged the following certificates, diplomas and degrees:

(i) First School Leaving Certificate (1978)

(ii) West African School Certificate (1983)

(iii) Diploma in Theology, Trinicol (1988)

(iv) Diploma in Religious Studies, UniCal (1988)

(v) Bachelor of Arts Degree (First Class Honours), Nigeria (1994)

(vi) Master of Arts Degree, Nigeria (1999)

Doctor of Philosophy Degree, Nigeria (2004).

Ecclesiastically, Benjamin grew by the special grace of God to become an Archdeacon (2006); former Lecturer, Registrar and Rector of Trinity Theological College, Umuahia; Synod Secretary of Nsukka Diocese; Canon of St. Paul’s Cathedral, Nsukka; Parish Priest in many churches within Enugu and Nsukka Dioceses respectively; and Deacon/Curate at Emmanuel Church, Umuabi-Udi.

Academically, Benjamin is currently a Lecturer (Professor) in University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Postgraduate Studies Lecturer/Facilitator, Trinity Theological College, Umuahia and Chairman of Bethesda College Governing Council; former Head of Department of Religion and Cultural Studies, University of Nigeria, Nsukka; Visiting Lecturer, Taraba State University, Jalingo; Ph.D. External Examiner, University of Jos.

Socially, Benjamin is the Chairman of Abbi Elders Consultative Forum currently and Former member, Enugu State Council of Prerogative of Mercy. He is married to Dr. Mrs. Chinwe Faith Diara and the marriage is blessed with six children, 3 boys and 3 girls, to the glory of God.
