The Anglican Youth Fellowship (Nigeria), commonly referred to as AYF, is a vibrant and spiritually-driven organisation within the Anglican Diocese of Nsukka. It is dedicated to training and developing young Christians in sound doctrine, discipleship, and leadership, equipping them to be true followers of Christ and responsible citizens of Nigeria.

Motto and Emblem

The motto of the Fellowship is “Towards the Perfect Man” (Ephesians 4:13a), signifying its commitment to spiritual growth and maturity in Christ. The emblem of the Fellowship consists of:

  • An open Bible (White) – Representing the teachings of Christ.
  • A handshake (Gold) – Symbolising fellowship and unity.
  • Two green twigs forming a “V” – Representing young people.
  • A blue circular background – Denoting love and harmony among members.

Aims and Objectives

The AYF seeks to nurture young believers through worship, discipleship, service, and recreation. Its core objectives include:

  • Providing opportunities for corporate worship and personal prayer.
  • Teaching the Christian faith and its relevance to daily life.
  • Encouraging active service in the Church and society.
  • Promoting recreational activities that ensure physical and mental fitness.

Membership

The Fellowship welcomes members in different categories:

  • Ordinary Membership – For individuals aged 19 to 40.
  • Special Membership (Fellows of AYF) – For individuals above 40 years, inducted by the National President.
  • Youth Fellowship Stars – For members up to 18 years.
  • Sisters’ Forum – Open to all female members, regardless of age.

The AYF remains a cornerstone for spiritual growth, leadership development, and community service among Anglican youths in Nsukka Diocese, fostering a generation of committed disciples of Christ.
